Moon Festival

Moon Festival is held in August 15 by the lunar calendar in China. Chinese eat Moon cakes wishing family’s happy. Moon cakes were developed in Guangdong and its shape is round. Japanese may dislike its taste. There are traditional patterns on the cakes. Chinese present Moon cakes to someone important as their gratitude among friends and relatives.
Malaysians also celebrate Moon Festival and eat Moon cakes. There are many kinds of Moon cakes like cool or low sugar in Malaysia. A variety of packages are one of sales points.

Like Christmas or Thanksgiving, Chinese celebrate it on a large scale. When the moon rises, family watch it together and sing a moon poems. Moon Festival is based on a legend. The legend says Chang Er lived in the moon and she flew there. You might see her dancing on the moon during the Moon Festival.
